With extensive experience in the mining services sector, I currently serve as the General Manager at Enerflow, where I lead strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence. Prior to this role, I was the Maintenance Manager for Exploration at Ausdrill, part of Perenti, where I developed and implemented a comprehensive maintenance strategy that enhanced plant recovery and optimized equipment longevity. My responsibilities included precise budgeting, capital expenditure submissions, and robust P&L analysis, ensuring financial optimization and efficiency. I also designed a custom digital app to streamline workflows and maintain ISO55001 certification, while managing a dynamic team of 30 across three states. My leadership led to significant operational efficiencies, cross-functional collaboration, and the successful execution of a $40 million equipment replacement strategy.
Earlier in my career, as Maintenance Manager at Rock on Ground, I improved operational efficiencies through automation and re-engineered processes, managed comprehensive maintenance across multiple mine sites, and ensured compliance with OH&S regulations. My role involved strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as talent acquisition and training. As Director and Owner of Great Southern Mechanical, I provided mobile mechanic services, specialized in heavy machinery maintenance, and collaborated with industry leaders on innovative projects. My technical expertise and strategic vision have consistently driven performance improvements, cost savings, and enhanced safety standards throughout my career.
CEO - Mining Services
Darren Guild serves as the Chief Executive Officer – Mining Services leading the Roc-Drill and Enerflow mining services businesses. With a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University and with over 30 years of experience in Australia’s mining and resources industry, his expertise lies in the drill and blast sector, covering mining commodities such as gold, iron ore, nickel, coal, and lithium, plus drilling and blasting for civil projects predominantly with stringent ‘close to infrastructure’ blasting requirements.
Having held senior executive positions in both ASX-listed and private mining services firms, Darren brings a wealth of knowledge to both Roc-Drill and Enerflow. His leadership approach is characterized by collaboration and consultation, empowering the teams he leads for high performance. Darren has significant experience in growing and expanding drill & blast businesses.
General Manager - People & Culture
Lois Andrijich holds over 15 years of experience in Human Resources. She has a Masters in HR Management from Edith Cowan University, a Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard University, and undergraduate and Honours degrees in Psychology from ECU. Lois has served as the HR executive in small businesses of 80 staff, to large businesses of over 3,000 employees.
Lois enjoys finding innovative solutions to business problems and is passionate about improving life at work for employees. She appreciates that HR is never a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, and that acknowledging individual business and people needs is important in ensuring that HR services are effectively managed.
Operations Manager - Fabrication
An accomplished Operations Manager specialising in fabrication with extensive experience in the mining industry. Tim leads a team of over 25 members, ranging from tradespersons to designers, to deliver high-quality outputs and innovative designs. His strategic implementation of quality control measures and procedures has secured major contracts and streamlined operations, enhancing the overall efficiency and growth of the department. Tim’s role involves overseeing the scope and pricing of mining bucket builds and refurbishments, managing project costs, and liaising with clients to ensure a safe working environment and continuous department development.
Prior to his current position, Tim served as a Fabrication Leading Hand/Supervisor at CITIC Pacific from 2016 to 2021, where he managed bucket and tray rebuild strategies, developed procedural workflows, and led major equipment rebuilds. His expertise extends to incident investigation, root cause analysis, and in-pit shutdown maintenance, where he successfully conducted reactive breakdown repairs, oversaw high-risk activities and provided technical support for major repairs and rebuilds has been instrumental in maintaining operational excellence.
Tim’s early career includes roles as a Boilermaker/Field Service Technician at Downer EDI Mining and Schlam Engineering, where he honed his skills in major equipment rebuilds, welding, and fabrication. He has experience working on a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, including excavators, loaders, drills, and haul trucks, with a focus on safety and productivity improvements. Tim holds an Australian Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Design and is a certified Apollo Root Cause Analysis Facilitator. His extensive training in safety, high-risk activities, and technical skills, combined with his leadership experience, makes him a valuable asset in any operational or fabrication-focused role.
Operations Manager - Mechanical
Fred Pieterse is a highly experienced Operations Manager for Mechanical Services at Enerflow Mining Services, where he has been instrumental since March 2023. In this role, he excels at coordinating client needs, managing equipment rentals, and ensuring the flawless operation of drilling equipment. Fred’s responsibilities include overseeing maintenance schedules, managing warranty claims, and supervising a team of technicians. His leadership extends to optimizing workshop operations, maintaining accurate records, and fostering a collaborative work environment to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Before joining Enerflow Mining Services, Fred held significant roles at Mader International. As an International Coordinator, he managed health and safety protocols, recruitment, financial controls, and new business development, frequently traveling to global client sites. His previous positions as Technical Advisor/Supervisor in both Eritrea and Mongolia showcased his expertise in supervising maintenance teams, planning and executing shutdowns, and handling a diverse range of heavy machinery.
Fred’s career began with hands-on roles in heavy-duty diesel mechanics and fleet management, demonstrating his technical proficiency and problem-solving skills. As the owner of F. Pieterse Field Service, he honed his diagnostic abilities and mechanical expertise. His extensive experience across various continents and industries highlights his adaptability, leadership, and commitment to excellence in the mechanical services sector.
